The Mini Sight is a sight found in the optics section of all secondary weapons except the Serbu Shotgun. The reticle is very similar to that of the Coyote Sight. It is like the Delta Sight, but smaller with a faded orange dot instead of a red delta (triangle).
History
The Mini Sight is a variation of the Red Dot Sight created in 1975 by the Swedish optics company, Aimpoint AB. They marketed the first "electronic" red dot sight combining a reflecting curved mirror and a light-emitting diode, based on a design by Helsingborg engineer John Arne Ingemund Ekstrand.[13] The sight was called the "Aimpoint Electronic" and had a closed tube design that could be mounted similar to a telescopic sight. The LED could run for 1500 to 3000 hours on mercury batteries. Other manufacturers soon followed with over a dozen offering models today.[14] Newer generation red dot sights were produced with lower power consumption LEDs and power saving electronics, allowing them to run for years without being turned off. In 2000, the US military introduced a red dot sight into field use, the Aimpoint CompM2, designated the "M68 Close Combat Optic". (from Wikipedia "red dot sight")
In-Game
The Mini Sight is one of the standard red dot sights for secondaries. The Mini Sight is a variation to its sister: the Delta Sight. This sight can be attached to all secondaries except the Serbu Shotgun.
Trivia
- Unlike the Delta, when equipping the mini sight, it is easily noticeable to find the standard iron sights (any secondary of choice, except Serbu of course) still attached to the secondary, more likely to act realistically.
- The mini sight used in the game is similar to a real life version: the Trijicon RMR.
