The AK-12C is a fictional Russian Carbine variant of the AK-12. It is unlocked at Rank 51 or can be purchased with credits (CR).


The AK-12C is a semi-fictional Carbine. Although no such weapon exists, similar designs such as the AK-104 and AK-15K do exist, both being Russian Carbines firing the 7.62x39mm round. Similar to the AKU-12, the weapon is a speculation of a Carbine variant of the older AK-12 design using the aforementioned caliber.  In terms of Phantom Forces history, the AK-12C's model, along with the AK-12U, AK-12, Groza-1 and Groza-4, was created by Shaylan007 and had been around for a very long time, around after the time of the official game release. However, the weapon was not added until much later.


General Information

The AK-12C is a rather generic fully automatic weapon. It has good damage, sporting the capacity of a 3-Shot-Kill (3SK) up close and 5SK at long range. However, it's quite average. At 700 RPM, the AK-12C's Rate of Fire (RoF) is just lower than average for its class. Its camera kick and physical recoil are also stronger than other Carbines. Its only advantage over the other comparable weapons in its category that have a 3SK at close range and a 5SK at longe range, the SR-3M, the AK-12C has a larger magazine, 30+1 vs 20+1.

Usage & Tactics

The AK-12C's playstyle is very generic. Its Time-To-Kill (TTK) is relatively good overall across all ranges, but the recoil along with somewhat restricting iron sights and high amount of muzzle flash means hitting enemies at longer ranges is more difficult to do without attachments. Assault Rifles like the AUG A1 can outperform it at such ranges, due to having lower recoil and the same number of Shots-To-Kill.

Suppressors also increase the number of STK, making it less effective at a particular range depending on the suppressor. Unless going for a stealth approach, which other Carbines or other weapons would be suited for, the best approach is to use either a Flash Hider to mitigate the muzzle flash and improve target acquisition, or a Muzzle Brake or Compensator to reduce the recoil.

Hipfire and reload times are pretty average for its class, although the muzzle velocity is slightly below average. 

While being outperformed by other Carbines in particular situations and certain range engagements, the AK-12C remains versatile, usually not being the worst in any given scenario. It also sports higher damage than other Carbines, a 3-5SK vs a 4-6SK. 


Despite of being a generic carbine, the AK-12C isn't so much of a negative when it comes to playstyle. It's an all-rounder weapon, being able to compete in CQC or at longer ranges with relative easy. Although the recoil is not friendly for new users besides not having attachments. In likeness, it's similar to the M4A1 being a jack-of-all-trades, but trading a higher RoF and lower recoil for better overall damage.

    • The designation usually used for a 'carbine' in Russian is U, Ukorochenniy, or "shortened".
  • The weapon bears resemblance to the AK-15K, a Carbine variant of the AK-15 Assault Rifle, which fires the same 7.62x39mm cartridge.
    • It also is similar to the AK-104, another Carbine which uses the same cartridge.
  • Before being nerfed, the AK-12C was able to 2SK with headshots at close range and 4SK with bodyshots at medium range and beyond.
  • The AK-12C was added to main game on Halloween Update (3.1.0).
